Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this consultancy is to support the implementation of the "Ressources éducatives" project by developing robust communication and advocacy tools. This aims to ensure the visibility of achieved results, foster their appropriation by stakeholders, and enhance their value for partners. Under the supervision of the project lead and the Head of the Education Sector at UNESCO Dakar, the consultant will conceptualize communication tools, produce educational and awareness materials, and support the project team in organizing workshops and events. Key responsibilities include valuing project outcomes through tailored communication content, producing synthetic and structured reports, contributing to knowledge capitalization, and supporting content dissemination across various channels. This role is crucial for promoting quality education and innovative financial mechanisms.
Responsibilities
The consultant will ensure high visibility for the "Ressources éducatives" project and its activities by conceptualizing communication tools aligned with the project strategy. This includes producing educational and awareness materials on educational resource issues. The role involves supporting the project team in organizing workshops, meetings, and events with stakeholders, including travel to project countries. The consultant will enhance project results by developing communication and advocacy content tailored for institutional partners, donors, and the general public. Key tasks include producing synthetic and structured materials like notes, fact sheets, presentations, infographics, and digital content highlighting achievements and best practices. The consultant will contribute to knowledge capitalization through structuring, synthesizing, and formatting content from various components, and support content dissemination via existing channels such as the educational resources platform, social media, and webinars. Additional duties include providing editorial support to the project team, ensuring editorial coherence of content at national and regional levels, and managing content for the www.ressources-educatives.org platform. Travel to Madagascar, Mauritania, and Benin for workshops is expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in communication, content writing, and production. Experience in the education sector in Africa and with international organizations is required. Demonstrated experience in promoting, capitalizing on, or disseminating results from regional or international educational or cultural projects is highly desirable, including content production from technical documents and involvement in multi-stakeholder activities.
Skills
Excellent writing and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear messages. Proven ability to create multimedia content (articles, visuals, short videos) and manage social media. Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills, with the capacity to work effectively in multicultural, multi-stakeholder, and multilingual environments. Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and provide operational support. Demonstrated data analysis and information structuring skills. Proficiency in the digital content production chain and multi-channel editorial management. Excellent command of French and good knowledge of English.
