Organizational Context
The International Bureau of Education (IBE) of UNESCO in Geneva focuses on strengthening member states' capacities in curriculum design, development, and implementation. Job Purpose
This role supports the Technical Assistance Unit at UNESCO-IBE in Geneva, focusing on curriculum-related matters for Member States. The incumbent will contribute to the coordination, implementation, communication, and reporting of activities, particularly those related to the curriculum reform process in Haiti. The position aims to strengthen institutional capacities, ensure national ownership and sustainability, and foster stakeholder participation in educational reforms. The role involves developing pedagogical tools, preparing communication materials, and monitoring project progress to support the IBE's mandate in advancing quality education globally.
Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will contribute to drafting technical and financial proposals and supporting project implementation through Terms of Reference preparation, consultant coordination, quality assurance, and logistical support. Responsibilities include developing pedagogical tools and technical resources for curriculum reform processes. The role involves preparing communication materials for projects, such as articles and briefs, to document progress and engage stakeholders. Monitoring and reporting on project implementation and results, collecting data, analyzing lessons learned, and maintaining project documentation are key tasks. Additionally, the assistant will support the Director in the organizational and institutional development of IBE and undertake other tasks as required by the Technical Assistance Unit.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of education is necessary. Experience in project design and implementation is also required.
