Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide technical assistance for the recognition process of the Lamay Agrobiodiversity Zone (ZABD). The consultant will support applicant communities in addressing observations on the technical dossier submitted to the National Agrarian Innovation Institute (INIA). The role involves reviewing, organizing, integrating, and validating technical, documentary, and legal information to create a consolidated dossier compliant with current regulations. This support is crucial for the ZABD Lamay to continue its recognition process, ensuring intercultural approaches and informed community participation throughout.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide technical support to applicant communities in the recognition process of the Lamay Agrobiodiversity Zone (ZABD). This includes addressing observations on the technical dossier, reviewing, organizing, and validating information to create a consolidated version compliant with Supreme Decree N° 020-2016-MINAGRI. The role requires an intercultural and participatory approach, ensuring informed community engagement. Key tasks involve facilitating exchange spaces with communities, reviewing the technical dossier and INIA's observations, providing technical support during the evaluation process, and coordinating actions for observation remediation. The consultant will also prepare territorial information, including maps and plans, potentially involving fieldwork, and coordinate meetings for agreement-building. Collaboration with INIA and other involved institutions is essential for consolidating the dossier and advancing the recognition process.
Work Experience
Minimum of eight years of professional experience in biodiversity, genetic resources, or agrobiodiversity management. Experience in the public or private sector in technical or management roles related to these fields. Experience in developing technical or methodological documents on biodiversity or agrobiodiversity. Experience with Agrobiodiversity Zones or territorial management. Experience working with rural communities or local organizations is also required.
Skills
Accountability, Communication, Planning and Organizing, Results Focus, Teamwork. Knowledge of applicable Agrobiodiversity Zone regulations. Desirable knowledge of territorial analysis and GIS tools. Ability to systematize, organize, and analyze technical and documentary information.
