Key projects include the "Building Happy Schools" initiative, alongside efforts focused on strengthening education systems, promoting gender equality, and advancing comprehensive sexuality education.
Job Purpose
This role provides essential administrative, financial, and logistical support to the Education Unit's key projects, with a specific focus on the "Building Happy Schools" project. The incumbent will assist in coordinating project activities, ensuring timely delivery of outputs, and managing project objectives in line with approved work plans. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, reporting on activities and expenditures, and maintaining effective communication with partners, donors, and UNESCO offices. The position also contributes to enhancing project visibility through collaboration with communication officers and partners for media coverage and outreach.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative, financial, and logistical support for extrabudgetary projects within the Education Unit. This includes assisting with budgeting, budget revisions, procurement, and contract drafting. Ensure compliance with administrative and financial requirements, monitor project progress, and prepare necessary documentation. Offer logistical and organizational support for project implementation, coordinating missions, meetings, and events at both central and provincial levels. Facilitate the translation, printing, and dissemination of project materials. Specifically for the "Building Happy Schools" project, coordinate activities, monitor progress and expenditures, and contribute to progress reports. Maintain regular communication with partners, donors, and UNESCO offices, and assist in organizing coordination meetings. Enhance project visibility through media coverage and outreach initiatives. Maintain project documentation and databases. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Head of Office or Chief of Education.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in program/project support, financial services, or administrative services is necessary. Experience within an international organization, particularly in the education sector, is considered an advantage.
Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data management tools is essential. Strong organizational, coordination, and filing skills are required, along with excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking abilities. The candidate should be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of interacting tactfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
