Job Purpose
The Territorial Coordinator for the Horizontes Amazonía program in Condorcanqui, Amazonas, will be responsible for coordinating the program's territorial implementation. This involves ensuring inter-institutional articulation, providing support to targeted educational institutions, and managing planning, monitoring, and reporting processes. The role requires close collaboration with educational authorities, community leaders, and pedagogical specialists. The position is based in Santa María de Nieva, with frequent travel to districts, communities, and educational institutions. The incumbent must reside in Condorcanqui during the contract period and adhere to institutional ethical, safeguarding, and confidentiality standards.
Responsibilities
The Territorial Coordinator will plan and execute territorial activities for the Horizontes Amazonía program, ensuring an intercultural, community-based, and results-oriented approach. This includes developing annual activity plans with educational institutions and communities, emphasizing intercultural perspectives and local authority collaboration. The role involves supporting the organization of activities, technical visits, and workshops, and representing the program in relevant forums, particularly with indigenous communities. The coordinator will provide intercultural and bilingual pedagogical support and monitoring to targeted institutions, identifying and addressing capacity-building needs. They will also coordinate protection and permanence circuits for students, manage knowledge, and report on progress. Key responsibilities include planning territorial management, designing and implementing annual activity plans, participating in program operational planning, supporting institutional articulation, providing pedagogical accompaniment, identifying capacity-building needs, coordinating protection and permanence circuits, promoting community participation, managing information and reporting, and participating in national planning and other requested activities.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of general professional experience in development or educational projects with vulnerable populations or coordination with local/district authorities. At least 2 years of experience in educational programs/projects in the Amazon region. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with indigenous communities, with preference for experience with Awajún and/or Wampis populations. Experience in rural education or bilingual intercultural education is valued.
Skills
Key competencies include responsibility, communication, teamwork, and planning and organization. Proficiency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of Awajún and/or Wampis languages is desirable.
