Organizational Context
The UNDP project Sinergia+ aims to strengthen CONANP's institutional capacity for results-based planning, financial management, and strategic alliances to enhance ecological connectivity and biodiversity conservation. This role supports the General Directorate of Conservation in establishing protected natural areas, contributing to the project's goal of increasing conservation surface area with an ecological connectivity focus.
Job Purpose
This Project Assistant role supports the Sinergia+ project by providing advisory assistance to CONANP's General Directorate of Conservation for the establishment of protected natural areas. The purpose is to contribute to Result 4, focusing on increasing conservation surface area with ecological connectivity. The role involves supporting the integration of justification studies, socioeconomic sections, regulatory impact analyses, information requests, and public consultation processes. It also includes managing case files and preparing responses to various stakeholders, working under the direct technical supervision of the General Directorate of Conservation and the Sinergia+ Project Coordination.
Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will support the integration of preliminary justification studies for establishing protected natural areas. This includes assisting in the development of socioeconomic sections and regulatory impact analyses for these areas. The role involves preparing information requests to public administration units and supporting the management of processes for establishing protected natural areas. Additionally, the assistant will help integrate and track requests, opinions, and responses from public consultation processes, manage case files, and draft responses to inquiries from citizens, local governments, and organizations.
Work Experience
Candidates with a high school diploma require 5 years of verifiable experience. Those with a university degree require 2 years of experience in developing preliminary justification studies. Experience in protected natural areas and public administration is advantageous.
Skills
Experience in preparing technical reports. Desired skills include knowledge of Protected Natural Area Decrees and Management Programs, Regulatory Impact Analysis, development of economic sections, and familiarity with terrestrial or marine ecosystems.
