This role is crucial for the clinic's operational efficiency and patient care.

Job Purpose

The Chauffeur-Ambulancier is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the UN Clinic's ambulance and other assigned vehicles in Brazzaville. This role is vital for ensuring timely medical emergency response, including patient transport to referral centers or airports for international evacuations. The position also involves accompanying medical teams, maintaining the vehicle and its equipment, and responding to emergencies 24/7. The driver plays a key part in patient safety, logistical support for medical interventions, and the overall effectiveness of the clinic's emergency medical services, upholding UN standards.

Responsibilities

The Chauffeur-Ambulancier is responsible for safe and efficient driving of the ambulance and clinic vehicles, ensuring timely patient transport for emergencies, referrals, and international evacuations. This includes responding to urgent calls 24/7, accompanying medical teams, and adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. The role also entails daily vehicle checks, maintaining the ambulance's cleanliness and operational readiness, monitoring fuel, fluids, and tire pressure, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues. Regular preventive maintenance, administrative compliance (registration, insurance), and meticulous logbook keeping are essential. The driver will also manage onboard medical equipment, assist with patient loading/unloading, and ensure the secure transport of medical supplies, all while upholding strict confidentiality and UN safety protocols.

Work Experience

A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in field driving as a chauffeur is required, with an impeccable driving record. Experience within a public, private, NGO, project, or United Nations structure is preferred. Knowledge of UN security protocols and requirements is an asset.
