Organizational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) operates in over 170 countries, supporting policy development, institutional capacity building, and resilience. In Colombia, UNDP works across all 32 departments, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. The Country Programme Document 2025-2027 focuses on peace consolidation, social protection, climate action, and facilitating the 2030 Agenda.

Job Purpose

This role supports the development of participatory diagnostic processes, awareness-raising for associativity, association creation, and organizational strengthening for producers in conflict-affected territories. The project aims to address the economic sustainability challenges faced by small and medium producers, particularly those linked to reintegration processes, voluntary illicit crop substitution, and conflict victims. The initiative focuses on strengthening organizational and business capacities and value chains to promote differentiated consumption of products from specific municipalities and historically excluded populations, thereby generating sustainable income and recognizing conflict-affected territories.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include implementing organizational diagnostics by reviewing secondary information and available documentation, characterizing producer associations, and applying participatory tools to identify capacities and needs. The role involves conducting awareness-raising and strengthening activities through workshops on topics like solidarity economy, rural associativity, leadership, and conflict resolution, ensuring the participation of women and youth. Additionally, the position will support the participatory design and formalization of organizational models and associations, facilitate work sessions, and assist in defining organizational structures and governance mechanisms. The role also entails supporting project management, monitoring, and reporting, participating in coordination meetings, and preparing progress reports. Furthermore, it involves supporting capacity building, knowledge sharing, and the dissemination of project outcomes and lessons learned.

Work Experience

Experience in community development, organizational strengthening, or related fields is desirable. Experience working with producer associations or in conflict-affected regions would be an asset.
