Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Togo is implementing its Development Programme (CPD) for 2024-2026, with plans for a new program from 2027-2031, in partnership with the Government of Togo. This role supports the UNDP Representation Office in Togo, contributing to the organization's mission of advancing sustainable development and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The position is within the Innovation & Effectiveness department.
Job Purpose
The Communications Associate will manage the communication activities for the UNDP Representation Office in Togo. This role is crucial for ensuring effective project planning and implementation, supporting partnerships and resource mobilization, and facilitating knowledge acquisition and sharing. The associate will contribute to the visibility of project activities, manage communication channels, and support capacity-building initiatives. By ensuring clear and consistent communication, the role aims to enhance stakeholder engagement, promote UNDP's mandate, and contribute to the successful achievement of project objectives and the broader development goals in Togo.
Responsibilities
Support effective project planning and implementation by compiling data, preparing work plans and budgets, and ensuring compliance with UNDP operational policies. Provide comprehensive support to all project aspects, overseeing the quality of consultant and contractor services. Facilitate gender equality integration in project implementation and provide administrative and logistical support for project execution, including event coordination and procurement. Strengthen partnerships and resource mobilization by maintaining relationships with stakeholders, ensuring regular communication, and identifying resource mobilization opportunities. Support effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting by collecting and analyzing data, contributing to risk management, and preparing project reports. Facilitate knowledge management and capacity building by participating in training, organizing information sessions, and disseminating project learnings and best practices.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible administrative or project experience is required with a secondary education, or 3 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience in institutional communication and results-based development communication is necessary, along with proven experience in media and social media communication.
