Job Purpose

The Project Assistant – Youth & Indigenous Initiative will provide crucial support to the implementation of UNDP Indonesia's projects, specifically focusing on the Masyarakat Hukum Adat (MHA), Global Accelerator (GA), and Youth Ultra Micro Entrepreneurship Empowerment (YUMEE) initiatives. This role is integral to ensuring effective project planning, execution, and monitoring. The assistant will contribute to achieving project results by managing administrative tasks, supporting reporting, facilitating communication, and assisting in knowledge management activities. The position aims to strengthen UNDP's capacity to empower youth and indigenous groups, fostering inclusive and sustainable development pathways in Indonesia, and ensuring that vulnerable populations are active leaders in their communities.

Responsibilities

The Project Assistant will support effective project planning and implementation by compiling and presenting project data, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures. Key duties include assisting in the preparation of annual and quarterly work plans, project board meetings, and supporting operational and financial closure processes. The role involves providing administrative support for results-oriented progress reports and coordinating administrative actions such as personnel recruitment, travel arrangements, and procurement. Additionally, the assistant will offer general office support, maintain databases, document project activities for communication, and contribute to knowledge building and sharing by organizing training and maintaining project records. The position also requires upholding human rights, gender equality, and diversity principles in all activities.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management support is required with secondary education, or 2 years with a bachelor's degree. Experience in assisting project implementation, communication, organizing meetings/workshops, and computer proficiency with spreadsheet/database packages is necessary. Experience with UN/UNDP procedures, project monitoring, and youth empowerment is desirable.
