Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine supports the country's efforts in poverty eradication, inequality reduction, and resilience building, particularly in the context of the ongoing war. The Crisis Resilience unit focuses on enhancing community resilience. This Project Associate role is within the "Strengthening MSME Business Membership Organizations in Ukraine" project, aiming to boost MSME resilience and competitiveness through capacity development and improved public-private dialogue.
Job Purpose
The Project Associate will provide essential administrative, operational, and logistical support for the "Strengthening MSME Business Membership Organizations in Ukraine" project. This role is crucial for ensuring the transparent and efficient management of the project's budget and transactions. The incumbent will contribute to the day-to-day implementation of project activities, ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures. By supporting financial, procurement, and human resources processes, and facilitating knowledge management, the Project Associate directly contributes to the project's objective of enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of Ukrainian MSMEs and supporting inclusive economic recovery and sustainable development in a challenging environment.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will provide comprehensive project management assistance, focusing on administrative, operational, and logistical processes. This includes contributing to daily project implementation, ensuring adherence to UNDP policies and procedures, and preparing necessary documentation for meetings and discussions. The role involves coordinating administrative and logistical aspects of project activities, such as meetings and workshops, and managing travel arrangements. Additionally, the Project Associate will support financial and procurement processes, including transaction processing in the Quantum platform, and assist in human resources activities like recruitment support. A key function is facilitating knowledge building and management by monitoring project progress, collecting data, supporting event organization, and maintaining organized records for reporting and audits. Effective communication and coordination with stakeholders are also vital responsibilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with Secondary Education, or four (4) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, in administration or project management assistance is required. Experience with ERP systems like Quantum is desired.
Skills
Proficiency in computer and office software packages. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Experience in event management. Knowledge of financial analysis and procurement processes. Familiarity with UN/UNDP or international development organizations is desirable. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Quantum) is a plus.
