Communications Analyst [Open to internal and external applicants]

The BRIDGE Project, supported by the African Development Bank, aims to enhance gender-responsive governance and women's leadership. Effective communication, knowledge management, and outreach are crucial for this project's success, ensuring visibility of results and stakeholder engagement.
Job Purpose
The Communications Analyst will lead and implement the BRIDGE Project's communication, visibility, and knowledge management functions. This role is essential for ensuring high-quality documentation, strategic outreach, and effective public engagement to promote project results and influence development narratives. The incumbent will ensure all communication activities align with UNDP corporate standards and African Development Bank visibility requirements, while adhering to gender-responsive, inclusive, and Do No Harm communication principles. The position requires proactive communication planning, content development, digital engagement, media relations, and robust knowledge management to support the project's objectives and enhance its impact.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive BRIDGE Project Communication and Visibility Plan, ensuring alignment with project goals, donor expectations, and UNDP/AfDB policies. Conduct stakeholder analysis to tailor messaging and communication channels. Craft key messages and narratives to highlight project contributions. Integrate communication into project cycles for proactive, results-oriented outreach. Identify strategic opportunities for enhanced project visibility and advocacy. Lead the development of diverse communication products, including human-interest stories, case studies, press releases, and digital content, translating complex information into accessible formats. Document project interventions through photography, videography, and storytelling. Manage the publication lifecycle from concept to dissemination. Design and manage the project's digital communication strategy, including web and social media, and cultivate media relationships. Contribute to reporting, capture lessons learned, and maintain a digital repository of knowledge products. Coordinate communication efforts with partners, build their capacity, and support stakeholder engagement. Monitor communication performance, analyze outreach effectiveness, and ensure compliance with branding, inclusivity, and safeguarding standards, while mitigating risks.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (with a Master's degree) or 4 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required at the national or international level in communications or management advisory services. Experience with computers, office software, and web-based systems is necessary. Photography and video production skills are advantageous.
