Job Purpose

The associate will contribute to the efficient management of project resources, adherence to financial controls, and timely reporting to stakeholders. By supporting administrative processes, procurement, and logistical coordination, the position directly enables the successful execution of initiatives aimed at biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in Peru, aligning with national and global biodiversity targets.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and financial support for the biodiversity project portfolio, including tracking implementation and ensuring compliance with UNDP procedures. Monitor project activities against expenditure timelines and work plans, ensuring adherence to financial management, monitoring, and reporting requirements for both UNDP and donors. Assist in budget control, ensuring activities remain within approved limits and follow UNDP regulations. Reconcile project expenses and commitments with UNDP's Quantum system and financial reports. Maintain an updated inventory of project physical resources and ensure proper documentation, including work plans, procurement plans, and financial reports. Support the mobilization and contracting of external personnel and the procurement of goods and services, adhering to UNDP policies. Coordinate logistical aspects for workshops, meetings, and events. Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity development by participating in and organizing training sessions on internal procedures.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience with a secondary education, or 3 years with a university degree, is required. Experience should encompass administrative and financial project management, including documentation, logistics, procurement, travel, personnel management, budgeting, and expense control within public, private, or civil society organizations.
Skills
Proficiency in Spanish is required; intermediate English is desirable. Experience with ERP systems, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), and web-based management systems is essential. Advanced spreadsheet and database skills are necessary. Experience with UNDP project administration, national counterpart coordination, state projects, and managing travel logistics for projects is highly desirable.
