The role sits within the Green and Inclusive Growth Cluster, contributing to initiatives that strengthen local governance, mobilize sustainable investments, and advance climate and environmental action. This position supports the effective coordination and delivery of integrated development solutions.

Job Purpose

The Project Associate, Local Inclusive Green Development will provide programmatic and operational coordination across multiple initiatives focused on local development within UNDP Montenegro. This role is crucial for ensuring coherence across interventions, facilitating knowledge exchange, and strengthening partnerships to support the country's transition towards a greener, more resilient, and prosperous future. The associate will work closely with project managers, national and local partners, and the Green and Inclusive Growth Cluster to ensure high-quality delivery of integrated development solutions, contributing to the successful implementation of projects aimed at enhancing local capacities and promoting sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

The Project Associate will support the coordination and implementation of the Green and Inclusive Growth Portfolio, focusing on assigned projects such as 'Strong and Resilient Local Communities' and 'City Experiment Fund'. Key duties include assisting the Portfolio Team Leader with day-to-day implementation, monitoring progress, and preparing project reports. The role involves facilitating communication and information exchange across projects and with stakeholders, maintaining project documentation, and providing administrative and logistical support for activities like meetings and workshops. Additionally, the associate will contribute to applying innovative methodologies, integrating gender equality and social inclusion principles, and liaising with various partners to ensure smooth project execution and knowledge management.

Work Experience

A minimum of 7 years of relevant project coordination experience is required with secondary education, or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience with computers and office software packages, particularly spreadsheet and database applications, is essential. Experience in project proposal development, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation is desirable.
