Job Purpose
The Project Analyst, Civil Society will manage and implement key components of the UNDP civil society portfolio within the Sawasya III Joint Programme. This role is crucial for delivering on programme outcomes, fostering synergies, and developing knowledge networks. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining partnerships, supporting resource mobilization, overseeing budgets, and contributing to knowledge management within the practice area. The position aims to strengthen civil society engagement in promoting the rule of law and access to justice for Palestinians, contributing to an inclusive and rights-based Palestinian society.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of UNDP civil society components of the Sawasya III programme across Palestine, ensuring efficient budgetary and financial management, work planning, procurement, and reporting. The role involves supervising the civil society team, monitoring delivery status, and preparing progress updates. The Project Analyst will contribute to project document development, conduct programme reviews, and manage human resources for the team. Additionally, the role requires assessing programme impact through field visits, coordinating with national and international actors, and representing UNDP in relevant fora. A significant part of the role involves providing technical advice on access to justice, mapping CSO activities, creating strategic partnerships with CSOs, supervising technical and financial support to local CSOs, and developing coordination mechanisms. The incumbent will also engage in capacity building with justice and security sectors, organize outreach sessions, and liaise with various stakeholders. Financial and operational management, including ensuring adherence to UNDP procedures and supervising financial transactions, is also a core duty. The role further supports resource mobilization strategies and contributes to policy inputs and knowledge management.
Work Experience
Applicants with a Master's degree are not required to have professional experience. Those with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in managing development projects or a CSOs portfolio in Palestine. Experience in justice sector reform, access to justice, legal reform, programme/project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation is required. Experience working with public institutions and grassroots organizations, proven grant management with CSOs, and team supervision are also necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in computer and office software packages (MS Word, Excel), spreadsheet and database management. Experience with web-based management systems, grant/project evaluation, report writing, and UN/UNDP procedures are desired. Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
