Job Purpose
The Project Manager will provide strategic and adaptive leadership for the LoGIC project, ensuring results-based planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. This role is crucial for managing financial and human resources, overseeing project activities, and ensuring compliance with UNDP and UNCDF principles, donor requirements, and government priorities. The position contributes to advancing inclusive and sustainable economic development and environmental resilience in Bangladesh, aligning with national development goals and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager is responsible for comprehensive project management, including results-based planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This involves managing financial and human resources, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overseeing the roll-out of project phases. The role includes risk management, quality assurance, and championing UNDP's standards against exploitation and abuse. Key duties involve preparing high-quality reports, facilitating governance mechanisms, overseeing procurement, and maintaining project documentation. Additionally, the manager will provide technical oversight, ensure quality assurance across project outputs, develop stakeholder engagement strategies, and build strategic relationships with government, UN agencies, civil society, and development partners. The role also entails evidence-based advocacy, policy support, knowledge management, communications, learning, and supporting resource mobilization efforts.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree, or 7 years with a Bachelor's degree, is required. This experience should be in project/programme management related to climate change adaptation, local governance, climate finance, or policy advocacy within the development sector. At least 3 years must be in a senior managerial role, with demonstrated experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs, managing budgets, teams, and partnerships.
