UNDP Bhutan serves as the anchor for Batch 1, focusing on digitization, OCR, and search.
Job Purpose
The Fellow will serve as the primary in-country implementation coordinator for the AI in a Box pilot in Bhutan, specifically partnering with the Medical Records Department of JDWNRH. This role involves managing daily relations with the hospital, coordinating logistics, tracking progress, and acting as the main communication link between UNDP Bhutan, the hospital, and the USPC technical team. The Fellow will ensure the pilot's effective delivery, engage with AI and data systems to assess outputs, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the South-South and Triangular Cooperation framework by documenting Bhutan's implementation experience for other participating countries.
Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day coordination of the AI in a Box pilot, ensuring smooth progress in scanning operations, pipeline deployment, and system integration. Act as the primary on-ground contact, coordinating between UNDP Bhutan, JDWNRH, and the USPC technical team, and escalating issues as needed. Cultivate strong relationships with hospital stakeholders to ensure partner needs are met. Track implementation milestones and provide regular reports. Document operational lessons, adaptations, and decisions for knowledge sharing and the AI in a Box playbook. Participate in the community of practice, representing the Bhutan experience. Provide ad hoc support for related initiatives, collaborate with various stakeholders on development cooperation projects, and engage in continuous learning to enhance expertise.
