Organizational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mexico is implementing the "Sembrando Vida" and "Juntos por el Bienestar" projects. These initiatives align with Mexico's commitment to regional cooperation and inclusive development, focusing on rural communities, food self-sufficiency, and shared prosperity. The projects aim to reduce migration intentions by improving agricultural productivity and providing vocational training.

Job Purpose

The Technical Assistant role supports the effective planning and execution of the "Sembrando Vida" and "Juntos por el Bienestar" projects in Central America and the Caribbean. This involves assisting with activity planning, monitoring progress with strategic partners, and maintaining updated statistical information. The role also contributes to the design and technical review of beneficiary surveys, systematizing statistical data, and following up with counterpart institutions to address beneficiary needs. The ultimate goal is to ensure the successful implementation of development projects that promote well-being and integral development in participating communities.

Responsibilities

Support the project coordination team in planning and executing project activities across Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, and Cuba, in collaboration with counterpart institutions. Monitor the progress of agreements with strategic actors, including governmental bodies, cooperation agencies, and international organizations. Maintain updated statistical information related to project implementation by generating databases and statistical reports. Assist in the design and technical review of surveys for beneficiaries in Guatemala, Belize, and Cuba to analyze project outcomes. Systematize statistical information gathered from beneficiary surveys and follow up with counterpart institutions on beneficiary-related issues.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of experience is required with a high school diploma, or 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should be in public administration and governmental projects. Experience analyzing statistical information for governmental projects, working with beneficiaries of development projects, and implementing international cooperation projects is also required.
