Organizational Context
The UNDP's Crisis Resilience unit, through the Sinergia+ project, aims to strengthen CONANP's institutional capacity for results-based planning, financial management, and strategic partnerships. This project focuses on enhancing connectivity between representative ecosystems to safeguard biodiversity and ecological balance, contributing to effective conservation in protected areas.
Job Purpose
The Project Assistant will support the Directorate of International Designations within the Sinergia+ project. The role's purpose is to strengthen the management of international designations by articulating strategic processes, integrating technical and administrative inputs, and monitoring international initiatives, alliances, and opportunities. This position directly contributes to achieving institutional strengthening and effective conservation goals for protected natural areas, ensuring compliance with international commitments and enhancing the management of these designations.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with Regional Directorates and Protected Areas for report integration and project follow-up related to international designations. Support the organization of work meetings, events, and workshops concerning CONANP's participation in international designation matters. Prepare reports, minutes, and other documentation to track agreements and commitments arising from designations. Systematize technical information to fulfill institutional commitments and respond to information requests. Assist in planning and implementing training for staff on international designations. Support technical processes for the nomination, renewal, and modification of international designations by preparing and reviewing required documentation. Facilitate coordination and linkage with national and international institutions and stakeholders involved in international designations.
Work Experience
For candidates with a High School Diploma, at least 5 years of verifiable experience in managing and monitoring conservation and sustainable projects is required. Candidates with a university degree need 2 years of experience in these areas. Experience in technical report writing is also required.
