Organizational Context

UNDP Indonesia places youth at the center of its development agenda, recognizing their role as drivers of transformation. The country programme focuses on equipping youth with future-ready skills, expanding access to education, decent work, and entrepreneurship, and strengthening their participation in decision-making, particularly in green and digital economy transitions. This role supports the implementation and mainstreaming of youth-focused programs.

Job Purpose

The Technical Assistant for Youth Empowerment and Innovation will support the implementation and mainstreaming of youth into the UNDP Indonesia country office portfolio. This role will assist in managing youth-led programs that address pressing national issues and needs, fostering youth contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The position facilitates partnerships and collaborations among youth groups in Indonesia, contributing to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development pathways. The role supports initiatives like the Youth Ultra Micro Entrepreneurship Empowerment (YUMEE) and the Youth Digitalization for Employability and Entrepreneurship Program (YDEEP), aiming to enhance youth employability, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment.

Responsibilities

Support effective project planning and implementation for youth engagement initiatives, including YUMEE and YDEEP. Coordinate project preparation, compile data, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures. Assist in partnership coordination with government, UN agencies, development partners, and the private sector, providing administrative and logistical support for programs. Facilitate communication with stakeholders and maintain updated lists of partners and potential donors. Develop insights into youth sectors and build relationships within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Manage communications and knowledge management, including preparing social media plans, digital content, and outreach materials. Identify information sources, synthesize best practices, and maintain networks with development partners and government entities. Support strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts by maintaining databases and documenting project activities. Ensure human rights and gender equality are prioritized in all actions, respecting diversity and promoting an inclusive approach.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in youth empowerment and engagement or a relevant field is required with secondary education. With a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Experience in project/program implementation, communication, and using computer applications (MS Office, spreadsheets) and AI-related applications is necessary.
