Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Impulse and Sustainable Development Goals" project, a collaboration between the Mexican Government and UNDP. The role will focus on strengthening the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' capabilities in areas such as following up on national and international agreements, fostering institutional alliances, analyzing public policies, and understanding geopolitical and international political contexts. This position is crucial for advancing Mexico's interests in the international arena through multilateralism and contributing to the effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by enhancing institutional capacities and promoting SDGs.
Responsibilities
The Assistant for Mobility, Settlement, and Human Development Linkages will support the design and development of initiatives to promote civil society organization (CSO) activities in mobility, settlement, and human development. This includes fostering linkages with CSOs participating in Mexico's multilateral agenda and monitoring key issues related to Mexican and international civil society within the framework of the UN's 2030 Agenda. The role will also assist in promoting cooperation between subnational governments, citizens, and organized civil society to create innovative solutions for inclusive, safe, and resilient human settlements. Additionally, the position involves analyzing and supporting collaboration between civil society and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, evaluating CSO requests, and assisting in the preparation of communications, analytical documents, and meeting minutes, as well as providing logistical support for events.
Work Experience
For candidates with a High School Diploma, at least 4 years of experience are required in areas such as linking with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), international organizations, development project monitoring, or participation in multilateral forums. For candidates with a university degree (Licenciatura), at least 1 year of experience in these areas is required.
Skills
Required skills include oral and written communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to analyze international scenarios. Desired skills encompass experience or knowledge in Federal Public Administration, international policy, multilateral cooperation, human rights, and issues related to children and youth.
