Organizational Context

This role is part of the "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Impulse and Sustainable Development Goals" project, a collaboration between the Government of Mexico and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The project supports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in strengthening its capacities for international positioning through multilateralism and fulfilling its economic functions, aligning with the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to foster and strengthen the participation of civil society organizations (CSOs) in multilateral forums, particularly concerning social cohesion, gender, and sexual diversity. This involves promoting collaboration between CSOs and the SRE, providing information on international cooperation opportunities, and organizing dialogues and consultations. The role contributes to enhancing Mexico's international agenda on these critical issues, ensuring alignment with national and international agreements and fostering a robust exchange of ideas between government officials and civil society representatives to build capacity and inform foreign policy.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include promoting the engagement of civil society in multilateral delegations based on established guidelines for social cohesion, gender, and diversity. This involves organizing information sessions, dialogues, and consultations with CSOs and relevant SRE departments on gender, sexual diversity, and feminist foreign policy. The role also entails proposing actions to inform CSOs about international cooperation opportunities and organizing events to strengthen their participation in the international agenda. Furthermore, it requires tracking meetings related to gender and LGBTIQ+ agendas, facilitating dialogue between government officials and CSOs to build international capacities, and ensuring compliance with supervisory directives.

Work Experience

For candidates with a high school diploma, at least 6 years of experience are required in project monitoring with a gender perspective and/or international-level negotiation environments. For candidates with a university degree, at least 3 years of experience in these areas are required. Experience in Federal Public Administration is valued, with experience in the SRE being a plus.

Skills

Oral and written communication skills. Experience in designing, implementing, and/or evaluating projects with a gender perspective. Experience in Federal Public Administration. Desired skills include experience in analysis and research on international relations and policy, and knowledge of institutional linkage with Civil Society Organizations and multilateral cooperation for development.
