Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to support the 'Strengthening capacities for Economic Impulse and Sustainable Development Goals' project, a collaborative initiative between the Government of Mexico and the UNDP. This project is designed to enhance the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' (SRE) capabilities in effectively positioning Mexico's economic interests on the international stage. The role contributes significantly by focusing on strengthening economic diplomacy, attracting foreign investment, and promoting trade. The incumbent will be instrumental in conducting in-depth economic analysis, meticulously monitoring key indicators, policies, and global economic developments. Furthermore, the position involves preparing crucial analytical inputs to inform and solidify Mexico's institutional stance in various economic policy committees and international forums. This includes managing documentation for strategic projects aligned with Mexico's economic diplomacy agenda, thereby reinforcing SRE's institutional alliances and supporting the nation's strategic economic priorities within a dynamic global economic landscape. The role directly facilitates the effective implementation of Mexico's Integral Economic Promotion Plan.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for preparing comprehensive analytical documents detailing Mexico's economic relations with various countries, with a particular focus on North America. This includes conducting in-depth research and analysis to inform policy. A key duty involves the continuous monitoring of relevant economic indicators, policies, regulations, and significant global economic developments, providing timely updates and insights. The role requires investigating and generating analytical inputs that effectively contribute to substantiating and articulating Mexico's institutional position within economic policy committees and related mechanisms. Furthermore, the position entails managing all necessary administrative procedures and preparing relevant documentation to ensure Mexico's effective participation in international forums and mechanisms dedicated to economic dialogue. Finally, the incumbent will be tasked with preparing all required documents and overseeing the execution of strategic projects that are integral components of Mexico's broader economic diplomacy agenda, ensuring their successful implementation and alignment with national objectives.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of experience is required for candidates with a high school diploma. For those with a Bachelor's degree, at least 1 year of experience is required in International Economics, Government, International Organizations, Foreign Trade, Data Visualization, Statistical Analysis, or related fields.
Skills
Required skills include effective oral and written communication, time management, and experience or knowledge in team management and workflow coordination. Desirable skills encompass experience or knowledge in database management and quantitative analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Stata, R), research and analytical capabilities, and proficiency in synthesis and drafting executive and technical documents.
