Job Purpose
This internship provides graduate students with a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in communications within the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Brazil. The role supports the Communications Team in daily activities and contributes to achieving strategic goals. Interns will develop skills in various aspects of multilateral technical cooperation, international studies, and inclusive growth. This position is designed for learning and professional development, complementing academic pursuits, and does not lead to further employment with UNDP. The internship can be undertaken at UNDP Brazil premises in Brasilia or remotely.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the Communications Coordinator and Team by preparing daily news clippings, maintaining and updating UNDP Brazil's websites, and translating documents between English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Responsibilities include assisting in writing communications materials, stories, reports, and press releases, as well as preparing social media content and contributing to social media strategy implementation. The role involves exploring new online tools, preparing analytical reports on website and social media performance, and assisting in the creation and updating of communication materials, including graphics and infographics. Additionally, the intern will support video and audio projects, gather information on UNDP's mandate and projects, assist with event preparation and coverage, manage mailing lists, and handle general inquiries.
Work Experience
Required computer skills and a keen interest in development and UNDP's mandate are essential. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) and knowledge of photojournalism are highly desirable.
