Job Purpose
The Programme and Partnerships Specialist provides technical advisory support to the Internal Displacement Solutions Fund (IDSF) to ensure high performance. This role involves coordinating with joint programme focal points and the inter-agency Solutions Hub, identifying innovative programme opportunities, and monitoring implementation to align with IDSF priorities. The specialist also contributes to resource mobilization and advocacy efforts to promote and elevate the Fund's profile and impact in addressing internal displacement challenges and advancing sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities
The Programme and Partnerships Specialist provides technical advisory support to the IDSF, coordinating with joint programme focal points and the Solutions Hub. Key responsibilities include ensuring strategic coordination and programme management by supporting the design and implementation of joint programmes, reviewing concept notes and proposals, and identifying new programme areas. The role also involves fund operations, monitoring, and oversight, tracking portfolio implementation, assisting with data collection and M&E frameworks, and maintaining a risk matrix. Furthermore, the specialist builds strategic partnerships, advocacy, and resource mobilization through drafting advocacy materials, synthesizing programme results, analyzing funding trends, organizing events, and ensuring consistent messaging. Finally, the role supports reporting, knowledge management, and operational functions, including preparing reports, documenting lessons learned, and providing secretariat support to the IDSF Steering Committee.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (with a Master's degree) or 7 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required in programme coordination, policy analysis, and knowledge management within the UN system. Experience in programme/project management, including technical appraisal, monitoring, and reporting, preferably with joint UN programming or pooled funding, is also necessary. A strong track record in knowledge management and communications is essential.
