Job Purpose
This role supports the UNDP Sierra Leone Communications Unit in executing the country's communication strategy and annual plan. The primary purpose is to enhance UNDP's visibility and impact by producing high-quality communication materials and utilizing targeted channels. This involves developing content for various platforms, assisting with reporting and presentations, and coordinating events and campaigns. The role aims to effectively communicate UNDP's development results, foster partnerships, and contribute to the overall mission of advancing sustainable development and inclusive governance in Sierra Leone.
Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of UNDP Sierra Leone’s Communications strategy, Annual Communications Plan, and Key Performance Indicators. Develop content for various communication materials including stories, op-eds, talking points, press releases, and social media posts. Assist in synthesizing information from UNDP programme teams for communication purposes. Prepare presentations, decks, pitches, toolkits, and process documents. Maintain communication unit dashboards and meeting calendars. Support the curation and coordination of events, campaigns, and workshops to highlight UNDP's work and build stakeholder relationships. Create communication materials for events and disseminate information through relevant channels.
Work Experience
Experience in graphic design or visual arts is required. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools is necessary. Experience in creating content across various media and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are expected. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
