Job Purpose

The intern will play a vital role in supporting key initiatives, including the elaboration of investment plans linked to Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), strategic planning for the transition towards a circular economy and the development of related projects, advancing blue economy projects, and supporting eco-construction initiatives. This position is instrumental in bolstering the team's capacity in critical areas of sustainable development and climate resilience, directly contributing to the country office's programmatic cycle focused on inclusive sustainable development, green growth, and innovation.
Responsibilities
The intern will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the Inclusive Sustainable Development team, focusing on critical environmental and economic initiatives. A primary duty involves assisting in the elaboration of investment plans linked to Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), which encompasses comprehensive data collection, rigorous analysis, in-depth research, and support for the formulation of strategic documents. The role also requires active contribution to the strategic planning process for the transition towards a circular economy, including the development of associated projects from conception to initial implementation phases. Furthermore, the intern will provide essential support for the development and advancement of blue economy projects, contributing to sustainable marine and coastal resource management. Support for eco-construction initiatives, promoting environmentally friendly building practices, is another key area. The intern will also be responsible for contributing to knowledge management and effective stakeholder coordination, which includes drafting conceptual notes, preparing detailed project documents, and creating compelling presentation materials. Additionally, the intern will provide general administrative and programmatic support to the team, ensuring efficient workflow and undertaking any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor to facilitate the achievement of team objectives.
