Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supports "Sembrando Vida" and "Juntos por el Bienestar" projects in Central America and the Caribbean, aligning with Mexico's commitment to regional cooperation and inclusive development. These initiatives focus on rural community well-being, food self-sufficiency, and labor training, aiming to reduce migration. This role supports the technical implementation of these projects across El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Cuba.
Job Purpose
The IT Support Associate will provide technical assistance for the "Sembrando Vida" and "Juntos por el Bienestar" projects, focusing on the supervision and maintenance of electronic platforms, biometric devices, and software. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of data collection and user management during beneficiary registration missions in multiple countries. The position contributes to the effective execution of international cooperation projects by ensuring the integrity and accessibility of technological tools, thereby supporting the overall objectives of promoting inclusive development and shared prosperity in the region. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting user assistance, and contributing to the systematic collection and reporting of platform performance data.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for IT components of the "Sembrando Vida" and "Juntos por el Bienestar" projects. Assist in collecting statistical information from biometric devices during beneficiary registration. Offer technical guidance on IT usage during registration missions in El Salvador, Honduras, Cuba, Belize, and Guatemala. Generate service tickets for electronic platforms used in project implementation. Support the attention to reports on electronic platform functionality from the Directorate General of Special International Cooperation Projects Execution. Compile data on electronic platform performance in established formats for technical reporting. Assist in addressing incidents related to the operation and periodic maintenance of biometric devices used for beneficiary registration. Help gather information on the operation and maintenance of electronic platforms for "Sembrando Vida" implementation across participating countries. Perform other related duties as required to meet project objectives.
Work Experience
Candidates with a secondary education require 3 years of experience in operating and maintaining electronic platforms. University graduates are not required to have experience, but at least one year in the specified areas is advantageous. Minimum of 1 year of experience in technical assistance to users of electronic platforms and in managing user profiles for electronic platforms is required.
