The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking an intern for the Internal Displacement Solutions Fund (IDSF) Secretariat. The IDSF is a UN financing mechanism supporting nationally led solutions to internal displacement by providing catalytic financing, strengthening national leadership, and improving data for durable solutions. This home-based internship focuses on supporting the Secretariat's day-to-day work.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the IDSF Secretariat in its mission to advance durable solutions for internally displaced persons. The intern will contribute to the Fund's operations by focusing on communications, knowledge management, content development, and coordination support. This role is crucial for disseminating lessons learned, maintaining information systems, and enhancing the visibility of IDSF's work. By assisting with various communication products and event organization, the intern will help strengthen national leadership and improve data and evidence related to internal displacement, ultimately contributing to more effective and scalable solutions for affected communities.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the IDSF Secretariat in key areas: Knowledge Management and Learning, Communications and Visibility, and Coordination/Secretariat Support. Responsibilities include documenting lessons learned and best practices, maintaining information management systems like SharePoint, and formatting knowledge products. The intern will also draft and edit communications materials such as website text, newsletters, and social media content, and assist with organizing and captioning visual assets. Additionally, the role involves supporting the organization of meetings, webinars, and donor consultations, drafting meeting notes, and providing general administrative and coordination support to the Secretariat.
Work Experience
While not strictly required, experience or a strong interest in communications, knowledge management, public information, international development, forced displacement, or humanitarian affairs is highly desirable. Experience in drafting various communication products (notes, summaries, web content, newsletters, presentations) is a plus. Familiarity with content management systems, SharePoint, and design platforms is an asset.

Excellent written communication and editing skills; strong analytical and research abilities; attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaborative platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams); demonstrated interest in international development, internal displacement, or related fields; professionalism, teamwork, planning, organizing, and accountability.
