Job Purpose
The Driver plays a crucial role in supporting the UNDP project's objectives by ensuring efficient and secure transportation services. This position is integral to the successful execution of project activities, including the transport of personnel, delivery of documents, and logistical support. The Driver's responsibilities extend to maintaining project vehicles, ensuring cost-effectiveness through proper usage and maintenance, and adhering to all safety regulations and local laws. By providing reliable transportation, the Driver directly contributes to the project's ability to reach its target communities and achieve its goals of capacity building and promoting sustainable development solutions across Uzbekistan.
Responsibilities
Provide reliable and secure driving services for authorized personnel, including international experts, and for the transport of mail and documents within project regions. Ensure safe and responsible operation of project vehicles at all times. Assist with logistics, including airport meet-and-greets, customs clearance, and deliveries to regional departments. Maintain the assigned vehicle through daily checks of essential components (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and perform minor repairs as needed. Log all official trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities, submitting monthly reports. Ensure cost-saving measures through efficient vehicle use and proactive maintenance. Adhere strictly to all accident reporting procedures and traffic laws. Perform additional administrative tasks as required, such as assisting with pouch services, procurement, and workshop support.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience as a driver is required, coupled with a proven safe driving record. Experience with basic computer skills and office software (MS Word, Excel) is necessary. Previous experience in vehicle maintenance and familiarity with electronic logging systems are advantageous.
Skills
Safe driving practices and knowledge of traffic regulations. Minor vehicle repair skills. Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel). Experience with electronic log and scheduling systems. Client-oriented approach. Teamwork capabilities. Vehicle maintenance experience. Fluency in Uzbek and Russian.
