Job Purpose
The Project Associate will provide crucial support to three key initiatives within the UNDP's Financing for Development and Inclusive Growth (FfDIG) Programme Unit: ASSIST 2.0, Green and Digital Cities, and PRESERVE. This role is essential for ensuring the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities, with a particular focus on procurement processes and administrative support. The associate will work closely with project teams, government institutions, and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery, ensure compliance with UNDP rules and procedures, and contribute to the overall success of sustainable finance and inclusive growth objectives in Indonesia. The position aims to support the achievement of project results through efficient operational and administrative management.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will support the planning and implementation of three key initiatives (ASSIST 2.0, Green and Digital Cities, PRESERVE) within the FfDIG Unit. Key responsibilities include compiling data for work plans, drafting budgets, and supporting procurement implementation by reviewing documents for compliance and quality. The role involves providing administrative and logistical support for project events, contract management, recruitment, and field visits. The associate will maintain stakeholder cooperation, develop procurement dashboards, and ensure regular communication with project teams, government partners, and beneficiaries. Responsibilities also extend to supporting the monitoring and evaluation of procurement implementation, assisting with risk management, and monitoring expenditures against budgets. Additionally, the role involves preparing project reports, supporting financial administration, updating stakeholder databases, and documenting project activities for communication and resource mobilization. The associate will also contribute to knowledge building and sharing, ensuring adherence to human rights, gender equality, and UNDP's social and environmental standards.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in administrative, finance, or project management is required with a secondary education. This requirement is reduced to 4 years if the candidate holds a Bachelor's degree. Experience with UN rules and policies, particularly regarding travel, meetings, and workshops, is beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), database management, and familiarity with UN/Government financial and procurement regulations. Experience in project management, administrative support, and event coordination is essential. Knowledge of UNDP development projects in Indonesia, UN ERP platforms (Quantum), and budget monitoring is desirable. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
