Job Purpose
The Small Grants Programme Assistant supports the National Coordinator in the day-to-day implementation of the GEF Small Grants Programme in Seychelles. This role involves assisting with project screening, proposal evaluation, advising potential grantees, and providing ongoing support to active projects and their beneficiaries. The position also contributes to financial management, administrative tasks, and knowledge management efforts to ensure the effective delivery of grants and achievement of global environmental benefits at the community level.
Responsibilities
Support programme implementation by assisting the National Coordinator in screening project proposals, advising grantees, and providing guidance to ongoing projects. This includes managing project databases, preparing minutes for meetings, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and supporting monitoring and evaluation activities. Financial responsibilities involve reviewing financial reports, processing payments, managing petty cash, and maintaining financial records and budgets. Administrative duties include procurement, office organization, establishing filing systems for projects and finances, drafting correspondence, and supporting event organization. The role also contributes to knowledge management, communication efforts, and ensuring the visibility of the SGP.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative or programme experience is required with a secondary education. This requirement is reduced to two years with a bachelor's degree.
