Social Media Intern (french) - HOME-BASED
Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's global development network, operating in over 170 countries. The Communications Team enhances UNDP's visibility and impact through strategic communications. The Social and Digital Engagement unit within this team focuses on creating compelling content. This role sits within the Social and Digital Engagement unit, reporting to the French Editor.
Job Purpose
This internship supports the management of UNDP’s French-language social media channels and digital editorial content. The intern will contribute to expanding the reach and impact of UNDP’s communications in French by drafting and scheduling social media posts, developing creative digital assets, and supporting global campaigns and event coverage. The role involves transforming the organization's mission into engaging content, ensuring a consistent tone and visual identity across platforms, and helping to inform editorial decisions through performance monitoring and analysis. The position is home-based and requires availability for at least four days a week.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include drafting, adapting, scheduling, and publishing engaging content for UNDP’s French-language social media channels, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines. The intern will manage the French social media editorial calendar, research and adapt content to align with strategic priorities, and create visual assets like graphics and short videos. Support will be provided for global campaigns and events, including live coverage. The role also involves translating and proofreading social media copy between English and French, monitoring social media performance and analytics, managing audience engagement, and staying updated on social media trends and best practices. Additional editorial duties as assigned by the French Editor are also expected.
Work Experience
Proven ability to manage social media platforms and create digital content is required. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and awareness of political sensitivities are also necessary.
