Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mexico, through the AMEXCID-PNUD Cooperation Program (PROCAP), supports Mexico's International Development Cooperation (IDC) efforts aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 17. The program focuses on strengthening the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) institutional capacities, its IDC policy (both receiving and offering), and fostering strategic alliances. This role is part of the operational structure of AMEXCID, contributing to the effective management of cooperation projects.
Job Purpose
The Associate for Planning and Operational Management of Cooperation Projects plays a crucial role in supporting AMEXCID's institutional consolidation and the strengthening of South-South Cooperation in Mexico. This position contributes to the effective implementation of the National Development Plan and the Agenda 2030 by assisting in the design and execution of cooperation strategies and projects. The role involves supporting budget execution oversight, developing work plans, and contributing to the update of procedural manuals for project selection and follow-up. Additionally, it aids in the operational planning and management of high-level meetings, ensuring that cooperation initiatives align with national priorities and contribute to social development, peace, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
The Associate will support the supervision of budget execution for international cooperation programs. This includes collaborating on the design of institutional work plans and contributing to the development and execution of cooperation strategies and projects aimed at social development, peace, and inclusion. The role also involves assisting in updating procedural manuals for the selection, assignment, and monitoring of technical and scientific cooperation projects. Furthermore, the Associate will collaborate in the operational planning and management of high-level meetings, ensuring smooth execution and coordination. This position operates within AMEXCID's operational structure, overseeing and coordinating cooperation programs and projects in alignment with national policies and legal frameworks.
Work Experience
For candidates with a high school diploma, 6 years of experience in public administration and/or international cooperation project management are required. Candidates with completed university degrees need 3 years of experience in the aforementioned areas. Experience in Mexico's federal public administration is also required.
Skills
Experience in Mexico's federal public administration, budget execution oversight, ability to develop work plans and procedural manuals, knowledge of Mexico's Public Administration Regulatory Framework, experience in citizen service, and experience in social project management.
