Job Purpose
The Project Associate will provide essential administrative, logistical, procurement, and financial support to ensure the efficient delivery of a joint UNDP project focused on climate change adaptation and flood risk management in Moldova. This role is critical for achieving project results by ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and regulations, supporting operational strategies, and facilitating effective financial management and reporting. The position contributes to strengthening national and local capacities for disaster preparedness and water resource management, ultimately aiming to protect vulnerable populations and enhance the country's resilience to extreme weather events.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will manage administrative, logistical, travel, procurement, and asset management tasks in strict adherence to UNDP policies. This includes supporting the procurement of goods and services, arranging project-related meetings, and contributing to the preparation and review of work plans. The role involves quality control of project activities, maintaining filing systems, and collecting monitoring data. Additionally, the associate will ensure compliance with financial regulations, assist in budget management and reporting, monitor expenditures, and support financial closure processes. Operational support includes ensuring adherence to procurement rules, managing project assets, organizing procurement processes, and preparing travel documents. The role also involves protocol support, document management, and assisting with vendor creation and payment requests.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience is required with a secondary education, or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should be in administration, finance, economics, business administration, or public administration. Experience working in a multicultural environment, with international organizations, or in project/financial administration is considered an asset.
Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), advanced spreadsheet and database skills, and experience with web-based management systems. Core competencies include achieving results, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, determination, engagement, and fostering diversity and inclusion. Technical skills encompass operations management, knowledge generation, relationship management, budget management, procurement management, and asset and document management.
