Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in India has established the UN India SDG Country Fund, a pooled financing mechanism to accelerate the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This role sits within the UN Resident Coordinator's Office (UNRCO) and supports the Fund's operations, contributing to the UN Country Team's efforts in achieving national development priorities and the SDGs.
Job Purpose
The Manager - Fund Operations and Coordination will administer the UN India SDG Country Fund, ensuring its effective operationalization and proper functioning. This involves managing fund operations, secretariat duties, reporting, documentation, and coordination. The role also includes developing and implementing resource mobilization and communication strategies to ensure the Fund's continuity. The position supports the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in facilitating strategic interventions aligned with the Government of India-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, ultimately contributing to India's development goals and the SDGs.
Responsibilities
Oversee the operationalization and administration of the UN India SDG Country Fund, including managing calls for proposals, due diligence, and project appraisals. Perform essential secretariat duties, ensuring proper functioning through administration, reporting, and documentation. Develop and update operational manuals and resource mobilization plans. Prepare work plans, review project proposals for compliance, and analyze the donor landscape to identify collaboration opportunities. Support resource mobilization efforts by preparing proposals and implementing communication campaigns. Facilitate effective collaboration with Participating UN Organizations and stakeholders. Monitor project implementation, financial expenditures against budgets, and overall Fund performance, reporting findings to the Steering Committee. Ensure timely submission and consolidation of financial and narrative reports, investigating any anomalies. Facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity building, and advocacy related to the Fund's thematic areas.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (with a Master's degree) or 7 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required in areas such as resource mobilization, project/programme formulation and management, knowledge management, and coordination. Proven experience in fund management and operational oversight of projects/programmes is essential. Proficiency in computer office software and web-based management systems, with advanced spreadsheet and database skills, is also required.
