Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) partners with the National Council of Justice (CNJ) in Brazil on a cybersecurity project (BRA/25/025) to enhance the judiciary's cybersecurity, digital preservation, and information integrity. This role supports the CPTRIC-PJ, contributing to the protection and continuous improvement of the Brazilian judiciary's cybersecurity environment.
Job Purpose
The Cyber Incident Monitoring and Response Assistant will support the CPTRIC-PJ in protecting, monitoring, and continuously improving the Brazilian judiciary's cybersecurity environment. This role involves close collaboration with CNJ and UNDP teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensure alignment with information security standards, and enhance protection mechanisms. The position contributes to strengthening institutional security, promoting transparency, good governance, and the efficiency of judicial processes, ultimately benefiting citizens and society through more agile justice.
Responsibilities
The Cyber Incident Monitoring and Response Assistant will provide technical support for incident response, including monitoring security events, alerts, and indicators, and assisting with containment, escalation, and documentation. The role involves supporting the analysis of evidence and operational impacts by preparing technical records, incident reports, and operational metrics, and aiding in the production of technical visualizations and monitoring dashboards. Responsibilities also include supporting process improvements for cybersecurity efficiency, assisting in the development and maintenance of playbooks, and contributing to post-incident documentation, including chronologies and lessons learned. The assistant will help integrate learnings into local institutional processes, promote cybersecurity best practices, and support readiness, resilience, and prevention efforts.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of experience is required with a High School Diploma, or 1 year with a University Degree. Experience should be in cybersecurity operations, incident monitoring and response, Security Operations Centers (SOC), threat detection, security event analysis, or related cybersecurity operational environments.
Skills
Proficiency in Information Technology and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in assisting with cybersecurity incident monitoring and response, data analysis in SOC/CSIRT environments, anomaly detection, threat tracking, and building monitoring dashboards is desirable. Fluency in Portuguese is required; basic English is desirable.
