Organizational Context
The UN Resident Coordinator's Office (UNRCO) in India supports the UN Secretary-General's representative and coordinates the UN Country Team's engagement with the Government. The UN India SDG Country Fund is a pooled mechanism to accelerate SDG implementation by supporting national development priorities outlined in the GoI-UNSDCF 2023-27. This role is within the Fund's lean Secretariat, housed in UNRCO.
Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst will provide essential support for information management, monitoring, and evaluation for the UN India SDG Country Fund. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective operation of the Fund, which aims to accelerate SDG implementation in India. The analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing M&E frameworks, coordinating data collection and analysis, and facilitating learning and adaptation based on findings. This position contributes to the Fund's objective of delivering integrated UN development system results and supporting India's progress towards its national and global development goals, particularly through thematic windows like South-South Cooperation.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks, plans, and tools for the UN India SDG Country Fund. This includes developing data collection methods to capture outputs, outcomes, and impacts, and establishing baseline data and performance indicators. The role involves coordinating the collection, validation, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring data quality, and preparing regular MEL reports for stakeholders. Additionally, the analyst will facilitate learning sessions, support the integration of MEL findings into decision-making, and provide training and technical support on MEL practices to personnel and partners. The position also entails strengthening organizational MEL capacities through knowledge sharing and documentation.
Work Experience
For those with a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, learning (MEL), programme monitoring, data analysis, or results-based management is required. Experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is highly desired.
