Human Resources Analyst
Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in India has been instrumental in human development since 1951, partnering with the government and stakeholders to reduce poverty, enhance resilience, and promote sustainable development. The HR unit supports the Country Office by ensuring high-quality staffing and fostering a positive work environment through strategic HR management, technology, and analytics.
Job Purpose
The HR Analyst, under the Head of HR's supervision, is responsible for delivering effective HR services within the Country Office. This role involves applying HR policies, implementing procedures, and providing solutions to foster a client-focused environment. The analyst supports daily HR operations, including recruitment and onboarding, and collaborates with various teams and external partners. A key aspect is leading Learning and Talent Development initiatives to enhance employee capabilities, organizational performance, and promote a culture of continuous learning through well-designed programs and interventions aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
The HR Analyst ensures compliance with UN/UNDP HR rules and strategies, supports internal controls, and contributes to HR process mapping and SOP updates. Responsibilities include implementing strategic HR interventions such as recruitment, workforce planning, and performance management, and assisting with audits. The role involves managing recruitment and onboarding processes for various staff categories, coordinating with GSSC and hiring managers, and maintaining HR databases and project organograms. Additionally, the analyst leads the development and implementation of the Country Office Learning and Talent Development Plan, supports staff wellbeing initiatives, promotes peer learning, and provides guidance on performance management. This includes coordinating training activities, disseminating talent development opportunities, and managing learning compliance. The role also supports knowledge management by maintaining repositories and promoting digital tools for knowledge sharing.
Work Experience
For those with a Master's degree, no professional work experience is required. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree need a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in HR advisory services or managing staff and operational systems. Experience with ERP systems, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and learning and development initiatives is desirable.
