Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst is responsible for strengthening quality assurance, compliance, monitoring, and learning across UNDP's programme portfolio in Myanmar. This role provides second-line assurance, complementing management and operations functions, and enabling senior leadership to make informed decisions based on evidence and risk analysis. The position also offers technical leadership and quality assurance for key programming priorities, ensuring coherence and linkages within these areas. Reporting to the Deputy Resident Representative, the role supports a whole-of-office approach to programme quality and risk management, facilitating effective delivery in a challenging operating context.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst ensures programme assurance, quality control, and risk-informed oversight, reviewing project designs, documents, and results reporting for alignment with strategic priorities and donor requirements. This includes integrating risk analysis, verifying compliance with standards, and ensuring gender equality commitments are embedded. The role supports strategic positioning by analyzing contextual signals, maintaining donor relations, and identifying partnership opportunities. Additionally, the analyst facilitates knowledge management by ensuring consistent communication, capturing lessons learned, and supporting effective monitoring and reporting. They provide strategic and technical advice on country programme priorities, particularly in community governance and economic resilience, and support capacity development for programme assurance functions.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience is required with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience in programme management, assurance, M&E, compliance, or risk management within development or public sector contexts is essential. Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, results-based management, and reporting is also required.
