Organizational Context
The Sinergia+ project aims to strengthen CONANP's institutional capacity for results-based planning, financial management, and strategic alliances to enhance ecosystem connectivity and safeguard biodiversity. This role contributes to Result 1: Institutional strengthening and effective conservation management in Protected Natural Areas (ANP). The position is within the Crisis Resilience department at UNDP.
Job Purpose
This role supports the Sinergia+ project by assisting in the monitoring and execution of actions for ecosystem and biodiversity conservation within Protected Natural Areas (ANP). The objective is to strengthen effective management, protection, and sustainable use of these areas. The position contributes to Result 1, focusing on institutional strengthening and effective conservation management. Key activities include supporting supervision, promoting conservation programs, assisting with subsidy programs, collaborating on environmental education and communication, and verifying tourism service applications.
Responsibilities
Support supervision and verification of actions within protected areas to ensure compliance with legal provisions, aiding in inspection and surveillance to prevent environmental offenses. Assist in implementing and promoting conservation programs, focusing on gender perspective and climate change mitigation through environmental education. Support the implementation, operation, and monitoring of subsidy programs, ensuring adherence to regulations. Collaborate on communication, dissemination, and environmental education activities, including developing educational materials and managing social media. Assist in reviewing and verifying applications for tourism services and managing related documentation.
Work Experience
For candidates with a high school diploma, 3 years of verifiable experience in native species management and environmental regulations are required. University graduates in relevant fields (Biology, Forestry Agronomy, etc.) do not require prior experience.
Skills
Report writing, teamwork, knowledge of subsidy program rules and guidelines, experience in conservation action supervision, biological monitoring, communication and environmental education activities, and community diagnostics.
