Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mexico, in collaboration with the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE), is implementing a project to strengthen Mexico's economic diplomacy. Job Purpose
This role supports the "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Impulse and Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals" project, a collaboration between the Mexican Government and UNDP. The primary purpose is to bolster the SRE's capabilities in international economic affairs. This involves managing bilateral, regional, and multilateral economic mechanisms, preparing high-level meeting materials, coordinating information gathering, and supporting the organization of economic events. The position contributes to strengthening institutional alliances and advancing Mexico's strategic economic priorities on the global stage, particularly in a context of evolving global economic dynamics.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include monitoring bilateral, regional, and multilateral economic mechanisms, preparing briefing documents and materials for high-level meetings, and coordinating information gathering from various national and international stakeholders. The role also involves supporting the organization and execution of international economic events, such as business missions, forums, and meetings, including agenda development and follow-up on agreements. Additionally, the position requires diligent tracking of commitments and requests arising from international economic engagements, ensuring timely coordination with relevant departments to facilitate Mexico's economic diplomacy and strategic objectives.
Work Experience
Candidates with a high school diploma require 6 years of experience in economic, commercial, international cooperation, or related fields. Those with a completed university degree need 3 years of experience in these same areas. Experience in managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and organizing events is essential.
Skills
Effective communication (oral and written), time management, information analysis and synthesis, understanding of macroeconomics, international trade, and foreign investment concepts, executive document drafting, multitasking, attention to deadlines, and organizational planning are required. Desired skills include knowledge of trade agreements, international economic mechanisms, and international economic organizations.
