Organizational Context
The role is within the Effective Governance department of the UNDP in Mexico, supporting the AMEXCID-PNUD Cooperation Program (PROCAP). This program aims to strengthen Mexico's international cooperation for development (CID) policy, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 17 and national development priorities. The position contributes to institutional consolidation and the effective management of development cooperation.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide institutional and regulatory support to the Directorate within AMEXCID. The Assistant will monitor compliance with the Law on International Cooperation for Development and applicable legal norms. This involves handling requests from AMEXCID and federal public agencies, providing legal advisory support for documentation and legal instruments, and contributing to the successful identification, design, and evaluation of cooperation projects. The ultimate goal is to enhance economic, political, cultural, educational, and social conditions for Mexicans, particularly vulnerable populations, through effective development cooperation.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the Directorate in monitoring the Law on International Cooperation for Development and related legal regulations. The role involves managing and responding to requests from AMEXCID and federal public dependencies. Additionally, the Assistant will provide support to various areas by reviewing legal documentation and offering legal advice for implementation. A significant duty is assisting the Directorate in drafting legal instruments essential for the operation and monitoring of international development cooperation activities, ensuring compliance and effective project execution.
Work Experience
Candidates with a high school diploma require at least 4 years of experience in legal acts, drafting legal documents, and contracts. Those with a completed university degree need at least 1 year of relevant experience in these areas. Experience in following up on agreements with civil associations is also required.
Skills
Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office suite. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in following up on agreements with civil associations. Knowledge of drafting regulations under public norms. Experience in preparing and reviewing legal documents. Experience providing administrative-legal support to government agencies. Advanced English proficiency.
