Organizational Context
The UNDP PROCAP program, active since 2013, supports Mexico's international cooperation for development (CID) efforts, aligning with SDG 17 and the 2030 Agenda. In its third phase (2019-2025), it focuses on strengthening AMEXCID's institutional capacities, its CID policy (both receiving and offering cooperation), and fostering strategic alliances. This role operates within AMEXCID's executive structure, contributing to the coordination and supervision of international cooperation projects.
Job Purpose
This role supports the design and execution of international cooperation initiatives, particularly in cultural development, creative industries, and heritage preservation, aligned with national priorities. The purpose is to ensure the effective implementation of cooperation projects by coordinating with multilateral, bilateral agencies, and key stakeholders. This involves managing linkages between public, private, academic, and civil society sectors to foster synergies and promote cultural initiatives. The position also contributes to reporting on project progress, facilitating decision-making, and organizing events to share best practices and collaboration opportunities. Ultimately, the role aims to strengthen Mexico's capacity in international cooperation and South-South cooperation.
Responsibilities
Support the design of cooperation strategies focused on cultural development, creative industries, and heritage preservation, ensuring alignment with national priorities. Monitor the execution of international cooperation projects in collaboration with multilateral, bilateral agencies, and other key actors, ensuring commitments are met. Facilitate coordination between public, private, academic, and civil society sectors to promote cultural and heritage initiatives and generate synergies. Prepare reports, documents, and technical analyses on project implementation and progress to inform decision-making and accountability. Assist in organizing and facilitating meetings, forums, and training sessions on cultural management and international cooperation, promoting best practices and collaboration opportunities.
Work Experience
For candidates with a high school diploma, 7 years of experience in cultural management, international cooperation, and project management are required. For candidates with a bachelor's degree, 4 years of experience in these areas are required.
Skills
Knowledge of cultural and heritage management, international cooperation, public administration experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
