Job Purpose
This internship within the Green and Digital Development Portfolio in Beijing offers a valuable opportunity to support the formulation and implementation of research and pilot projects. The role contributes to advancing sustainable and low-carbon transformation, enhancing climate resilience in Chinese cities, and promoting responsible business practices. The intern will work closely with the Programme Analyst, engaging with Chinese stakeholders to develop impactful solutions for environmental challenges and foster sustainable economic growth, aligning with UNDP's mission to accelerate SDG achievement and global climate agendas.
Responsibilities
The intern will conduct research on sustainable investment trends, low-carbon technologies, and climate resilience strategies, analyzing data and compiling reports on sustainable practices in Chinese cities. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and development of pilot projects for sustainable urban transformation and supporting their implementation through stakeholder coordination and documentation. The role also involves collaborating with team members on stakeholder engagement with local governments and businesses, and assisting in organizing workshops and events. Administrative support, maintaining project documentation, and undertaking ad hoc activities as needed are also key duties.
