Job Purpose
The Project Associate will support the UNDP Egypt Inclusive Growth and Innovation Team in implementing its portfolio, with a specific focus on a Government of Japan-funded initiative to strengthen youth-led green entrepreneurship. This involves providing crucial programme and project support services to ensure high-quality delivery. The role contributes to developing and implementing innovation-driven solutions that enhance resilience and empower communities, aligning with UNDP's mandate to support sustainable development and foster economic growth, particularly among youth.
Responsibilities
The Project Associate will support effective project planning and implementation by coordinating activities related to youth entrepreneurship, green innovation, incubation, and access to finance. This includes collecting and analyzing data for baselines and targets, and providing administrative and financial support, including using the Quantum platform. The role involves tracking performance indicators, preparing reports, and supporting audits. Additionally, the Associate will contribute to resource mobilization by liaising with various stakeholders, including government entities, private sector partners, and academic institutions. They will also support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, contributing to project visibility, communications, and knowledge management by documenting events, success stories, and best practices.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in administrative, programme, or project support is required with a secondary education. This requirement is reduced to 3 years if the candidate possesses a university degree. Experience in digitalization, entrepreneurship, or innovation programmes is highly desirable. Experience with UNDP or other international development organizations, and previous financial management experience, are considered assets.
