Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mexico supports the implementation of "Sembrando Vida" and "Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro" projects. These initiatives, aligned with Mexico's International Development Cooperation policy, aim to address migration causes and improve livelihoods. The role supports the Directorate General of Special International Cooperation Project Execution, focusing on administrative and planning activities across El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Cuba.
Job Purpose
The Technical Associate - Sembrando Vida role provides crucial support to the "Sembrando Vida" and "Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro" projects, which are key components of Mexico's Bienestar and South-South Cooperation initiatives. The primary purpose is to assist in the effective implementation of these projects in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Cuba. This involves contributing to administrative and planning tasks, systematizing project information, and conducting statistical analysis of quantifiable project outcomes. The role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of project activities and the achievement of their objectives related to poverty reduction, improved quality of life, and enhanced employability.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include advising the Project Coordinator on effective implementation processes and planning activities in collaboration with counterpart institutions. This involves monitoring the progress of agreements with strategic actors, including governmental bodies and international agencies, and supporting the preparation of progress reports with recommendations for improvement. The role also entails supporting knowledge exchange and capacity building by organizing training sessions, developing materials, and disseminating lessons learned. Furthermore, the Technical Associate will strengthen the project's technical components by reviewing and systematizing statistical information on results and environmental indicators, preparing reports on environmental and beneficiary impacts, and contributing to proposals for technical enhancements.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of experience is required with a high school diploma, or 3 years of experience with a university degree, specifically in environmental projects. Experience in process management, designing and delivering organizational training, and coordinating multiple actors and multi-site initiatives is also essential.
