The RBA Partnerships and Communications Team (PACT) is seeking a graduate student intern to support strategic partnerships in Africa. Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa's Partnerships and Communications Team (PACT) in New York. The intern will contribute to strategic partnership development by conducting research and analysis on key themes such as private sector financing, Diaspora, and CSO engagements in Africa. Responsibilities include mapping partners, developing partnership profiles, scanning relevant news, and supporting outreach activities. The role is designed to provide a graduate student with practical experience in international development partnerships, contributing to the RBA's mission and enhancing its engagement with regional and global partners.
Responsibilities
Support the development of regional and country-specific donor mappings and trend analyses, including International Financial Institutions (IFIs). Develop two-page partnership profiles for DAC, non-DAC, and IFIs, identifying new collaboration opportunities. Conduct research and gather insights on private sector financing, Diaspora, and CSO engagements in Africa. Compile lessons learned from other UNDP Bureaus regarding engagement with specific partners. Assist in partnership-building efforts by organizing outreach events, meetings, and dialogues with existing and potential partners. Scan and consolidate partnership-related news concerning Africa for internal reporting. Support the creation and dissemination of a monthly partnerships bulletin and outreach materials. Organize meetings, events, and webinars, preparing minutes and follow-up actions. Attend relevant events to capture and report outcomes. Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Experience
While not explicitly required, desirable experience includes a proven understanding of international development, development financing, and multilateralism, particularly within the UN system. Experience with knowledge management technologies, strong analytical and data handling capabilities, and excellent organizational and administrative skills are beneficial.
