Job Purpose
The Project Analyst will lead the project management unit, ensuring the effective execution of project activities as outlined in the approved project document. This involves providing essential technical, administrative, logistical, and financial support. The role is crucial for coordinating with diverse stakeholders, including government ministries, UN agencies, civil society, indigenous communities, and the private sector, to achieve project objectives. The purpose is to drive the implementation of governance measures and financing mechanisms to protect livelihoods, biodiversity, and native forests in the Bolivian Amazon, contributing to global environmental benefits and sustainable development.
Responsibilities
The Project Analyst is responsible for strategic project implementation and inter-institutional coordination, leading stakeholder engagement and ensuring alignment with project goals. This includes managing the annual work plan and budget, overseeing technical-political follow-up on regulatory processes, and implementing the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) with indigenous communities. The role involves ensuring adequate technical, administrative, and financial execution, developing and monitoring work plans, and managing procurement and contracts. Additionally, the analyst will oversee the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan, gender and intergenerational action plans, and social and environmental safeguards. Financial management includes ensuring correct fund utilization, supervising grant management, and preparing financial reports. Risk management and compliance are also key duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in project management, environmental conservation, or sustainable development is required. Experience working with international organizations, government bodies, and local communities, particularly in Bolivia or similar contexts, is highly desirable. Proven experience in managing GEF-funded projects is a strong asset.
