Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) operates in 170 countries, focusing on poverty eradication and reducing inequalities. The People Programmes and Partnerships (PPP) unit, part of the Bureau for Management Services in Copenhagen, is responsible for HR service delivery and talent acquisition strategies, including employer branding and recruitment. This internship is within the PPP unit, contributing to its mission of attracting and selecting top talent.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the UNDP People Programmes and Partnerships (PPP) unit in Copenhagen by assisting with communication and social media activities. The intern will play a key role in managing and enhancing the UNDP Careers social media presence across various platforms. This includes content planning, creation, data analysis, and reporting to measure the impact of social media strategies. The role also involves conducting research and supporting ad hoc activities, contributing to the unit's overall objective of strengthening UNDP's talent acquisition and employer branding efforts.
Responsibilities
The Communication and Social Media Intern will primarily focus on managing UNDP Careers social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), including daily posting and responding to inquiries. Key duties involve collaborating on content strategy development, identifying and creating staff testimonials for social media showcases, and collecting data to analyze content performance against KPIs. The intern will also support reporting to external partners on communication results. Additionally, the role includes conducting research on best practices for ongoing projects and providing support for various ad hoc activities within the PPP unit.
Work Experience
Prior experience in social media management is considered an asset. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) is also advantageous. Fluency in English is required, with a good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish being a plus.
